When I first found out about the SciFi channel years ago I was so excited. I love all things science fiction. Space Westerns, Aliens, Drama, Comedy and any genre has the potential to convert to science fiction. My love of the channel went on for years. I used to watch the Bionic Woman & the Bionic Man during the days I was home. Dark Shadows, Firefly, Stargate, Eureka and Doctor Who eventually found their way to the network. Then as they got better so did the shows up until Battlestar Galactica blew everyone away. Finally non-SciFi fans were interested in science fiction. On the heels of 5 great years of programming SciFi sells out. A non-SciFi fan is now in charge of the entire network. I realize all companies need to make a profit, but to hire an admittedly non-SciFi fan to run a completely SciFi channel seems like a bad idea. I would never hire a grumpy old lady to care for kids, so why would anyone else hire the wrong person for a job? All of us who had doubt have now been proven right. There is Pro Wrestling on the SciFi channel. There is James Bond on the SciFi channel. Normal and obvious shows that should be on the SciFi channel are NOT. The Star Trek & Stargate cartoons should be playing at some odd hour of the evening or maybe Saturday morning, but they never are. I can see James Bond on at least 3 other channels at any given time, why on earth is it on a science fiction channel? Ghost Hunters is not my favorite show, but at least it is within the realm of SciFi. To add extra salt to many a wound the SciFi channel has changed its name to SyFy. I pronounce it Sif-Fee. I know it is supposed to be SciFi, but it is not. Science Fiction fans tend to be slightly more well read then the average TV watcher and I can assure you that SyFy is not a word!
I am amazed that they would consider alienating their core fan base so thoroughly. I have seen the clips for some of the July shows. Their nighttime line up is okay, but everything else is horrible. Eureka, SGU & a few others is all they have. Stupid stupid Sif-Fee
