I went to see Speed Racer with mixed feelings. One year ago when I heard about the live action version being made I was very skeptical. A few months ago I was very excited to see the finished product. Last week the reviews started droning on. I decided I did not care that the critics were out in full force, I Wanted to see it. On Monday night I fell in love with Speed Racer! It is so much fun. I really wish people would stop expecting Shakespeare when it is just a racing movie. I liked to original Japanese TV show, but let's be honest with ourselves...it was not that great. I loved it anyway. I know many people will complain about this movie, but there are others of us who truly enjoyed it. I saw it for full price and I intend to see it again on the big screen before it goes away. Take a chance on it and just GO!
